My friend talked me into going to Mtn Jam this weekend, so if I'm not back in 3 or 4 days it might mean I was absorbed by an amoeba-like Drum Circle.

The band line up looks pretty good - I am definitely looking forward to the Yonder Mtn String Band.

Have you given this a listen yet?

Jeff Austin of YMSB and Brendan Bayliss from Umphrey's McGee, plus Tony Furtado, who we talked about a few days ago, sitting in for the encore. Excellent recording, great playing and all in all a pretty fine listen. I think you might like it!

Have fun with the drummers!

Jim -

Take a seat belt with you. Saw Yonder in Richmond Wednesday and in Norfolk last night. Co-headlined with moe in Richmond - it was a great show. Last night in Norfolk was huge - 2 1/2 hours of testostegrass.

Have a good time at Mountain Jam. What a great artist lineup. The big names speak for themselves, but I highly recommend you make time to catch "The Brew" - bunch of young guys out of Boston - they did a great show at the Jewish Mother a couple of months back.

If you get back, let us know how it went, I'm jealous.

I was in Christiansburg, VA about a year ago, and a bunch of kids in a sprinter van were getting gas at a gas station. I walked over introduced myself and asked if they played music, sure enough they did. Introduced themselves as the Brew out of Boston and they were returning home from a tour down south, having just finished playing Atlanta. We chatted for a bit, and they produced 2 cd's for me to take home and sample. One featured them backing up this girl singer, and they other was their latest release. Even though I didn't totally connect with their music, I did totaly connect with the present that was left inside the CD case. I'm very sure it was unintentional, haha! From that day forward, i've been a huge fan!
